Welcome
My name is Ryan, and I have a passion for exploring the outdoors. Keep scrolling to learn more about me, my background, and my content. Above you will find a few links: "Portfolio", which features recent galleries, "Featured" where you will find some of my favorite photos and the stories behind them, and "Contact" which contains the resources to get in touch with me. Thank you!
Background
I started taking pictures in high school with a hand-me-down Nikon D90. It was the perfect start, a simple camera with versatility. I started taking it with me on my hikes and trips, and took photos of things I liked or thought interesting. I wasn't particularly good (I still don't think I am honestly) but I got a lot of enjoyment from it, and that's what was most important to me.
I lost the hobby for a while in college, life caught up and I got too busy. Between my major and my sport I didn't have time for anything else, and while I loved my experience it was an incredibly challenging time.
After graduating a few years ago I've slowly gotten back into it, taking my camera on various trips and experiences. However most of my photos have stayed tucked away in various folders and SD cards. The one to the right was taken in October 2023 in Wales. I only took the time to edit it this year, but it is one of my favorite photos from that time.
Photography has always been an outlet, something to devote energy and focus towards, and a hobby that I've always loved. Today I take photos when I can, and I share those photos with you as a glimpse into how I see the world.

My Content
My photography is mainly based around animals and nature. I come from a very outdoorsy family, and fell in love with the outdoors from a young age. I am an avid hiker, birdwatcher, and rower. I also love to travel, and almost always bring my camera.
I bring my camera with me on my excursions, which mainly consist of hikes in the White Mountains or trips to local wildlife refuges. In these contexts I mostly capture landscapes and animals.
However, if someone asked what I take pictures of, my honest answer would be "anything I think is cool or interesting". The photo to the left is a good example, taken in Peru in 2019. Recently I have been branching into sporting events as well, and some of that work may appear here and there.
