This Privacy Policy explains how Ryan Dwyer Photography ("I," "me," or "my") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit ryandwyerphoto.com (the "Site"). I run this Site as an individual photographer to share my photography and stories. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

2. INFORMATION I COLLECT

Information you give me

If you use the contact form, I collect your first name, last name (optional), email address, and the message you write. I use this only to read and reply to your message.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically, mostly through my website host, Wix.com, and through cookies. This may include:

  • Your IP address and approximate location (such as country or city)

  • Browser type, operating system, and device type

  • Pages you view, links you click, and how long you stay

  • The website that referred you to the Site

  • Date and time of your visit

I do not require you to create an account, and I do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as financial details, government ID numbers, or health information.

 

3. HOW I USE YOUR INFORMATION

I use the information described above to:

  • Respond to your questions and messages

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Site

  • Understand how visitors use the Site so I can improve my photography, writing, and layout

  • I do not control these third parties' cookies or how they use your data, and I do not have access to the information they collect through those cookies.

I keep contact form messages and related email only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward, generally no longer than 12 months unless I need to keep them longer for legal reasons. Information collected automatically is kept by Wix and my advertising and analytics providers according to their own retention policies.

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, and Wix uses industry-standard security measures to protect the Site. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid including sensitive information in contact form messages.

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: ask what personal information I hold about you and request a copy

  • Correction: ask me to fix inaccurate or incomplete information

  • Deletion: ask me to delete your personal information

  • Portability: ask for your information in a portable format

  • Withdrawal of consent: withdraw any consent you've given, at any time

  • Complaint: lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

My legal bases for using your information are: your consent (for non-essential cookies and personalized advertising), my legitimate interests in operating and improving the Site and responding to messages, and compliance with legal obligations. Your information may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, through Wix and my other service providers, which use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.

Residents of California and other U.S. states

Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. I will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You can opt out of personalized advertising using the tools in Section 5, through your browser's cookie settings, or through a browser signal such as Global Privacy Control, which I will honor where technically able.

11. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom), and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, please contact me and I will delete it.

 

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, I will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
